Good News
I want everyone I meet to experience and to know what it is to truly live and not merely exist. Even though our world is constantly changing and many painful and ugly things are present, I constantly look for the beauty and truth that remains. My source of inspiration and my all in all is found in a Person. His name causes many to turn away and others to nod in disbelief, but I have found Him to be who He says He is – an extravagant giver of grace, the lover of my soul, the one who gives songs in the night and is ever with me. Jesus left it all and gave his all that we might have everything. He didn’t come to rescue “good” people, He came to rescue and redeem broken and sinful people like me. He didn’t come to condemn but rather to save. He didn’t come to bind us but rather to liberate us with unbounded grace and love.
With great patience, God has made the riches of His glory known to the objects of His mercy. I am thankful to be an object of His mercy. The truth is – He was despised and rejected and familiar with suffering; He took up my infirmities and was pierced for my transgressions; He bore my punishment and was delivered over to death for my sins. He was raised to life for my justification – that I might be made righteous by His blood. He lives to intercede for me and invites me into intimate fellowship with our Heavenly Father. He invades my life with his love and intercedes continually to help me in all of life.
I challenge anyone who reads this and doesn’t believe to simply ask -“Jesus, are you who you say you are”? Read the book of John with an open heart and mind.
Oh that I would live each day effectively and extravagantly for His glory!
